Take a Walk in Simsbury – CT Valley Volkssport Club and Simsbury Public Library

CT Valley Volkssport Club (CVVC) will be co-sponsoring with the Simsbury Public Library a 3.1 or 6.2 mile group walk in Simsbury on biking and walking trails.

The route follows a stretch of the Farmington Canal Heritage Trail then continues through Simsbury’s historic town center, with buildings representing 4 centuries of architecture, a 19th century railroad station, the old Drake Hill Flower Bridge, a 17th century grist mill and a 19th century explosives factory.

CVVC has been sponsoring non-competitive walking events in CT for fun, fitness and friendship since 1993. It is an affiliate of the American Volkssport Association, which came over from Germany in the 1970s and organizes walks in all 50 states

You may keep track of your walks and collect patches or just walk!

Meet at Fitzgerald’s, 710 Hopmeadow St. at 9 am. Takes place rain or shine. No registration needed. Free and open to all ages.
