SCTV Film Festival

Friday, October 23, 2015 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Simsbury High School Amphitheater  |  34 Farms Village Road, Simsbury, CT 06070

SCTV is pleased to announce its first ever film festival. This gala event is free to the public and will be held on Friday, October 23rd at 7:00 PM in the Simsbury High School amphitheater.

The festival will showcase several short movies made by SCTV volunteers both past and present. Included in the line-up is a black comedy by Jacob Bittens called “Go to Hell”. Filmed right here in Simsbury, it tells the story of a young man named David who winds up in Hell because he is too boring. To extricate himself from Hell and get a second chance at Heaven, David must prove to The Devil that he is, in fact, the most interesting person in the underworld.

Another entry by Nadia Gilbert is called “Fracas”, which she made in the city of Prague in the Czech Republic. “Fracas” is a light drama that tells the story of a down-on-his-luck street cellist who meets his match when a bucket drummer crosses his path. Also showing is a dark fantasy called “Howard’s Keep” by Wooda McNiven. Howard is an aging sentinel who struggles to remain vigilant while safeguarding mankind from unspeakable cosmic horrors. Each of these filmmakers will be showing a second short movie as well.

And finally, SCTV in conjunction with Acrofit will be showing a music video titled “All About Free Speech.” Short movies are often and undeservedly an overlooked art form. So here’s your chance to help turn the tide and come see some amazing short movies made by some very talented people that SCTV is proud to have been associated with as part of its volunteer work force.
