Friends Coffeehouse: Goza Latin Jazz Band
Guitarist Dave Giardina picked the word “goza” – Spanish for Joy – as the name of his group, the Goza Latin Jazz Band.
Their performances – classical, flamenco, samba, modern jazz, and more – have been referred to as “odes to joy” and one venue where they appeared said, “Their sound transported us. Goza jazz was lively, sophisticated and elegant!”
They generate their unique sound using guitar, horns, violin, percussion and beautiful, romantic vocals, playing everything from Buena Vista Social Club and Tito Puente to the Beatles and original tunes.
They have spread their joy throughout New England, with performances at venues as diverse as the Wadsworth Atheneum and CT River Camelot cruises. They can also be heard at many festivals, colleges and clubs.
